Your role
- Translate architecture to high-level network design for HFC & Fiber based access networks (DOCSIS/PON)
- Create Network Design for Converged Aggregation Networks (IP & Optical Design)
- Work with network access team and create specific design as required
- Create test cases to validate the design
- Preparation of lab environments & validate the network design (testing)
- Prepare test reports
- Perform regression tests & Test Automations
- Work with OEM vendors providing solutions and review test results
- Participate in Field Trials and support first roll out
- Troubleshooting of existing networks design
- Analyze and optimize existing network solutions
- Performance optimization of existing networks and ensure network performance
- Incorporate security measures in existing/new design (handle security threats at design)
- Interact with the stakeholders (employees, vendors, customers) about the requirements and issues
- Guide/mentor team members on the tasks and ensure all requirements are covered in the design
- Create hosting & network design for Virtualization of CCAP and observability framework
Required Skills
- Working experience in DOCSIS & PON technologies
- Strong knowledge of HFC and Fiber based access network architecture
- Well versed in DOCSIS-3.1/DOCSIS 4.0 specifications
- Strong knowledge of PON technology standards
- Strong knowledge on networking standards (TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, MPLS, Segment Routing, Traffic engineering, EVPN, IPoWDM, timing protocols and multicast protocols)
- Strong knowledge on network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, RPD, CMTS, CM, ONT, ONU, OLT, BNG, RADIUS etc) and configurations
- Experience in guiding the teams to implement the new design/architecture
- Strong knowledge on Network Virtualization, SR-IOV, DPDK
- Experience on network security design
- Experience on Unix/Linux based operating system and commands
- Hands on experience in creating design documents for the networks
- Hands on experience in lab testing & with testing tools like traffic generators
- Test planning, test execution, and reporting
Preferred
- Experience on passive access technologies (Cabinets, Amplifiers, Fiber Nodes etc.)
- Test Automations
- Good testing skills to bring in efficiencies in the network
- Knowledge of BNG & CPE testing
- Experience on Field Trials
- Knowledge on Agile/Scrum methodologies
