As an M&A Technology Value & Rationalisation Lead, you will play a central role in identifying, quantifying, and delivering technology-driven value in the context of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. You will bridge the gap between deal rationale and execution by translating the technology aspects of the deal thesis into measurable, trackable, and achievable outcomes. You will lead the development of technology cost baselines, synergy hypotheses, and value creation plans, working across applications, infrastructure, data, and vendor ecosystems. Your role will be critical in ensuring that value identified during due diligence is realistic, actionable, and ultimately delivered during integration or separation.

Operating across the full deal lifecycle, you will support pre-deal technology due diligence, shape value creation and synergy cases pre-close, and drive post-close tracking and realisation of benefits. You will work closely with Finance, Integration Management Office (IMO), and functional workstreams to ensure alignment between financial targets and delivery execution. This role requires a blend of strong analytical capability, technology understanding, and commercial acumen, as well as the ability to operate in fast-paced, high-stakes environments where timelines are fixed and expectations are high. You will be expected to challenge assumptions, bring structure to ambiguity, and ensure that technology is a core enabler of deal value.

  • Lead the development of technology value creation strategies aligned to the overall deal thesis, including cost synergies, revenue enablement opportunities, and efficiency gains.
  • Identify and quantify synergy opportunities across applications, infrastructure, data, and third-party vendors, including rationalisation, consolidation, and modernisation initiatives.
  • Develop bottom-up, evidence-based analysis to validate synergy assumptions and challenge overly optimistic or unrealistic projections.
  • Establish detailed technology cost baselines, including run costs (applications, infrastructure, licences, support) and change costs (transformation, integration, separation).
  • Define and implement value tracking mechanisms, ensuring that synergies are clearly linked to delivery initiatives and measurable outcomes.
  • Work with IMO and delivery teams to monitor progress, track benefits realisation, and proactively address shortfalls.

Support technology due diligence activities, providing insights into cost structures, technical debt, contract obligations, and optimisation potential. Identify key value levers, risks, and dis-synergies early in the deal lifecycle. Contribute to the development of clear, defensible value creation plans prior to signing. Work closely with client stakeholders across Technology, Finance, and Business teams to align on value targets and delivery plans. Clearly articulate technology value opportunities and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Contribute to the development of Infosys Consulting's M&A value creation methodologies, tools, and accelerators (e.g., baseline models, synergy frameworks, dashboards). Support business development activities, including proposals, value-led client conversations, and offering development. Stay current with industry trends in technology cost optimisation, cloud economics, and AI-enabled efficiency, applying these insights in M&A contexts.

Our M&A practice is at the forefront of this ambition. We partner with corporate and private equity clients across the full deal lifecycle - from technology due diligence and pre-sign feasibility, through Day-1 readiness and Transaction Service Agreement (TSA) design, to post-close integration, separation, and value realisation. We act as an execution confidence partner, ensuring that deal intent is translated into practical, deliverable outcomes that maximise value and minimise risk.

We bring a distinctive combination of advisory, architecture, and delivery orchestration, supported by Infosys' global delivery capability. Our teams work across applications, infrastructure, data, and business processes to enable seamless integration or separation, while maintaining business continuity and accelerating synergy realisation. We also leverage emerging technologies, automation, and AI-enabled insights to enhance decision-making and drive efficiency throughout the deal lifecycle.

Joining our team means being part of a growing and differentiated M&A capability where you will work alongside experienced practitioners, contribute to building new propositions, and help shape how organisations execute some of their most critical and high-stakes transformations.
