Role:
Senior Corporate Counsel – Intellectual Property & Artificial Intelligence
Location:
The Netherlands, Germany or the UK (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London)
We are looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our global IP team in Europe or the UK. You can be based outside of Amsterdam, Frankfurt or London, but you should be able to commute to the Amsterdam/Frankfurt/Canary Wharf office from time to time as required.
You will work with the IP transactions legal team as well as the wider global IP legal team on the full life cycle of IP, AI and data privacy law matters including but not limited to:
- Provide guidance to the business teams regarding the compliance requirements around the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Also, drive negotiations on AI-related terms in vendor and client contracts.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization to develop processes related to AI adaptation.
- Understand and interpret AI laws in UK and Europe and their applicability to Infosys business.
- Collaborate with internal teams to strategically engage with government regulators and agencies.
- Review technical & legal aspects of services or product agreements. Sensitize technology teams of risks and negotiate with clients, vendors or partners.
- Manage overall Intellectual Property (IP), AI and data privacy risk assessment process for proprietary product/platform development.
- Engage with business teams to understand technical & commercial contexts and translate the requirements for drafting of legal agreements from IP, AI and data privacy perspective.
- Conduct legal research on emerging AI legal regulation to enhance awareness and update contractual positions.
- Support in developing and creating IP and AI material for imparting IP and AI awareness in the organization.
This role is broad in scope and may vary day-to-day based on business needs. We seek a team player who enjoys challenges, works well in a fast-moving, global environment, and collaborates across cultures and geographies. The role covers all EMEA countries and involves regular interaction with offshore teams worldwide.
Qualifications and Skillset
- 8-12 years\’ experience in a corporate or law firm environment.
- LLB or LLM degree.
- Technical background (preferably in electronics/software).
- Familiarity with AI technology and regulatory developments in EU and UK.
- Strong understanding of contracts such as MSA, software licenses, SaaS, teaming agreements, MOU.
- Interest in emerging tech areas like AI, IoT, Cloud, Security.
- Knowledge of IP concepts including patents, copyright, trade secrets, licensing, infringement, and related issues.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving in complex legal-technical issues.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Logical reasoning and analytical skills.
