The Role
The Functional Lead for Supply Chain in S/4HANA (Retail) is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain processes for a retail organization. This role requires strong expertise in SAP MM, SD, Retail Master Data, and integration with logistics/e-commerce operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Implementation: Lead functional design workshops for S/4HANA Supply Chain modules (MM, IM, WM/EWM, SD, CAR, Retail Master Data). Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications. Lead end-to-end design for retail-specific processes such as article master, listing, merchandise distribution, allocation, price labeling, and promotions. Ensure solution alignment with SAP Best Practices and retail industry standards.
- Project Leadership: Serve as the primary functional lead for S/4HANA supply chain workstreams in greenfield/brownfield implementations. Manage cross-functional workshops with Merchandising, Finance, Logistics, Omni-channel, and Store Ops teams. Coordinate with technical teams (ABAP, Integration, Fiori) for development and enhancements. Lead testing cycles (SIT, UAT) and defect resolution.
Requirements
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Consulting experience: Experience in a top-tier consulting environment is necessary.
- Functional Experience: Have at least 12-15 years of experience in this area. Strong expertise in SAP MM, IM, WM/EWM, SD, and Retail Master Data. In-depth understanding of retail merchandise processes: Article creation, Listing/assortment, Purchasing & vendor management, Allocation and replenishment, Pricing & promotions, Store operations and inventory management.
- Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management and ability to lead business workshops. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Ability to manage a team of functional consultants. Project-related mobility/Willingness to travel.
