An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic employee relations advisory team within a shared services environment. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who have experience advising on employee relations issues and are wanting to build their career within this specialist function. The employee relations team provide remote advice to managers dealing with queries on a variety of issues across the UK and Ireland. This role would suit an individual who already has experience advising on disciplinary, grievances, absence management and other complex workplace issues who is looking to further their career within the speciality of employee relations. This role is a full time and permanent role based in South Birmingham and working in a hybrid manner.
Duties will include:
- Proactive case management of various types of case including but not limited to long-term sickness, disciplinary, grievance, client removal, redundancy, capability and OH referrals by providing accurate and timely advice to managers within the business considering both commercial and litigation risks.
- Take necessary steps to resolve cases promptly and drive achievement of critical SLAs whilst managing and maintaining HR systems by recording all ER cases in a case management system.
- Highlight high risk cases, trends and management capability issues as appropriate.
- Support managers with letter drafting including the formation of allegations and outcome letters.
- Review and advise on case evidence/notes and procedural correspondence.
- Coach, guide and influence managers to take the best approach to dealing with employee relations issues.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key client stakeholders and provide an excellent customer experience to the client.
Essential Criteria includes:
- Previous experience of advising and supporting managers with complex ER issues including dismissal and discrimination.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to interact across all levels of management.
- Strong customer focus.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving ability and ability to deliver results to deadlines.
- Strong understanding of Employment Law.
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Able to work on own initiative and work effectively within a team.
