Overview
In this role you will design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems for InfoSum’s data collaboration platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions. You will optimize performance, ensure security, and drive reliability in high-load environments. You’ll mentor juniors, implement monitoring, and adopt best practices to improve maintainability. This position offers the chance to contribute to a privacy-first data ecosystem at scale with a strong emphasis on cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Design scalable, high-performance backend services
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks under heavy loads
- Implement security best practices for data protection and compliance
- Develop automated testing strategies for quality and reliability
- Collaborate with product, frontend and DevOps teams for seamless deployments
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge
- Implement monitoring and logging to detect production issues
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to improve efficiency and maintainability
Key requirements
- 5+ years in backend development with Java
- Experience with Python and/or Go advantageous
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, gRPC, microservices, REST APIs
- Cloud and container experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker; Kubernetes)
- Database design and query optimization
- Scalability strategies, load balancing, caching, event-driven architectures (Kafka)
- CI/CD and automated testing
- Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
