This is a full-time remote role for a Software Developer. As a Full Stack .NET Developer, you will play a key role in new product development while also contributing to the support and maintenance of our existing Azure-based web applications. You will be adept at working across the full development stack, from web front-end development to API and database engineering, using a wide variety of cloud-based services. You will have a comprehensive understanding of modern .NET testing practices, including test driven development (TDD), and will use unit testing effectively to ensure the quality, maintainability and reliability of the code you produce. You will be collaborating closely with cross-functional team members to deliver scalable, robust, and high-quality software.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex challenges, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and taking ownership across all layers of an application to deliver effective solutions and would suit someone with a grounding or interest in maths or physics.

Duties

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack .NET applications hosted on Azure
  • Contribute to new product development initiatives, from concept to deployment
  • Support and enhance existing applications, ensuring reliability and performance
  • Build clean, maintainable, and secure code using modern best practices
  • Create isolated, deterministic unit tests with meaningful assertions in a CI automated environment (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps)
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions
  • Experience building scalable architectures, hyperscale, multi-threading, load balancing etc.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support infrastructure-as-code patterns using YAML and Bicep

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of commercial experience in full stack development
  • Strong proficiency in C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and .NET (version 6 or above)
  • Experience working with MSSQL (query writing, optimisation, schema design)
  • Experience with Azure Cloud services (App Services, Service Bus, Storage, etc.)
  • Application of SOLID principles and modern coding standards
  • Using effective unit testing to ensure the quality of code development
  • Working within a quality assured software development environment, pull requests, feature branches, agile project management etc.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think analytically and conceptually

Pay

Up to £50,000.00 per year DOE
