We’re partnering with a leading defence and national security organisation delivering a major transformation programme supporting UK military capability. This is a high-impact opportunity for a Senior Cyber Security Architect to shape secure systems at scale within a complex, mission-critical environment.
The Role
You’ll lead the development of security architecture across a major programme, ensuring systems are secure by design and aligned to both business and operational needs. You’ll operate across the full lifecycle—from strategy and design through to assurance and implementation—while engaging with senior stakeholders across engineering, delivery, and customer teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver security architecture strategy and roadmaps
- Lead threat modelling, risk assessments, and assurance activities
- Embed security into system design and architecture
- Drive secure-by-design principles across programmes
- Influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
- Evaluate and implement new security technologies and controls
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Security Architect or Cyber Architect
- Strong background in Information Assurance and risk management
- Experience in defence, government, or regulated environments
- Knowledge of TOGAF / security frameworks (ISO27001, NIST)
- Exposure to cloud architectures and DevSecOps practices
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly
Desirable
- CISSP, CISM, CRISC or similar
- Experience working in MOD or classified environments
- Understanding of secure systems within operational environments
