We’re partnering with a high-growth enterprise software business in the SAP technology sector to hire an AI Systems Engineer. This is a rare opportunity to help define how AI is embedded across an entire organisation, not just in product features, but across the full product lifecycle from discovery to delivery and beyond.
You’ll design and build agentic AI systems and workflows that connect engineering, QA, delivery, sales, and customer‑facing teams into a more intelligent and cohesive operating model. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on building platforms, tooling and integrations, not training or change management.
What you’ll do:
- Design and build agentic AI workflows across the full product lifecycle
- Connect and automate handoffs between engineering, QA, delivery, and sales teams
- Build MCP integrations and API layers across internal systems
- Evaluate and standardise AI tooling across the organisation
- Identify where AI can reduce friction, duplication, and improve decision‑making
- Work closely across product, engineering, delivery, and commercial teams
- Contribute to AI governance, compliance, and AI operating standards
- Collaborate with the central AI Function to align on shared platforms and patterns
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience with agentic AI patterns (multi‑step workflows, tool use, state, guardrails)
- Experience with MCP or similar AI integration approaches
- Strong software engineering in Python or TypeScript
- Experience with API design, automation, and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and shaping technical direction
Nice to have:
- Experience building tools used by non‑engineering teams
- SAP ecosystem exposure (BTP ideally)
- Knowledge of EU AI Act / ISO 42001
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Private medical insurance & health cash plan
- Life assurance & income protection
- Employee Assistance Programme
- 25 days holiday (rising to 30) + bank holidays
- Work abroad up to 1 month per year
- Enhanced parental leave
- Employee referral bonus
Why apply?
- Own how AI is built and used across the business
- Work on real agentic systems, not prototypes
- High autonomy in a scaling, tech‑led organisation
- Visible impact across engineering and commercial teams
