Technical Bid Writer

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience

Location: Remote-first, with occasional travel to a South East office

An established provider of cyber security services is seeking a Technical Bid Writer to join their Business Development function. This company supports both public and private sector clients across a range of industries, helping them understand their security risks and maintain compliance with evolving regulations. Their services include security consultancy, GRC support, and accreditation for information systems.

As part of a close-knit and collaborative commercial team, the successful candidate will take ownership of the technical components of proposals and contribute to winning new business. This is an ideal role for someone with a cyber security consulting background who enjoys technical writing and wants to remain in the industry while stepping away from delivery.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for drafting clear, accurate and compelling technical content for bids, frameworks, PQQs, and ITTs. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the organisation’s technical credentials are showcased effectively, and that each submission meets client requirements and evaluation criteria. You will also support internal documentation and contribute to the ongoing improvement of bid materials.

Key Requirements

  • Experience in writing technical content for bids, particularly in a Cyber Risk environment.
  • Understanding of UK public sector procurement and frameworks (e.g. MOD, government clients)
  • Prior experience in cyber security, ideally with GRC knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex concepts for different audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools and creating visuals from written content

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a consultancy or delivery role within cyber security
  • CISSP or similar certification
  • Formal bid writing or Shipley training

Responsibilities

  • Write technical responses that align with bid criteria and client expectations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather content and ensure consistency
  • Contribute to internal documentation, website content, and templates
  • Maintain a library of reusable materials, case studies and standard responses
