As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Informed Solutions, you’ll take a leading role in designing, building, and delivering complex digital solutions that tackle real-world challenges in the public sector. Your work will make a tangible difference, helping to create a healthier, safer, and more sustainable UK.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team, taking ownership of end-to-end delivery on greenfield projects while guiding and supporting colleagues to develop their skills and contribute effectively. Working across Software Engineering, User-Centred Design, Delivery Management, and Live Services, you’ll help shape enterprise-scale digital solutions for high-profile clients, influencing technical direction and driving innovation.
This is a varied role that requires adaptability, ambition, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced, agile environment. Take responsibility for the engineering and delivery of small-to-medium services (or major components of larger services) across the full lifecycle, from design and build through to deployment, operation and continual improvement.
Take ownership of the end-to-end design of components or services, producing and maintaining high-quality documentation. Collaborate with Lead and Principal Engineers, and practitioners from disciplines such as UCD and Data Science, to review and refine designs and translate them into robust implementations.
Support delivery planning: Partner with Delivery Managers to plan and structure technical activities, provide accurate and commercially sound estimates, and proactively identify and mitigate technical risks, issues and dependencies.
Provide guidance and technical leadership to colleagues, supporting their professional growth, fostering high-quality delivery, and enabling the team to work efficiently and confidently.
- 5+ years’ proven experience in a Full Stack Engineering role, with advanced skills in .NET, Java or Python, plus modern JavaScript libraries.
- Experience working in Agile environments, using Scrum, Kanban and test-driven development (TDD), and contributing to delivery planning and estimation.
- Experience mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers, providing guidance and enabling high-quality, efficient delivery.
- Proven experience engaging with clients, taking ownership of technical decisions and delivery outcomes, and building trusted relationships.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), delivering scalable, secure and well-architected solutions.
- Exposure to public sector projects and delivering solutions in complex organisational landscapes.
Lead the delivery of services, shape technical direction, and influence project outcomes at a senior level.
