You will play a pivotal role in our delivery teams by shaping innovative geospatial solutions to meet clients\’ needs, aligning with their technology strategies, and championing best practices in GIS architecture. Responsibilities Design and oversee the architectural vision, technical design, and implementation of advanced geospatial solutions. Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop robust software and GIS architectures. Achieve consensus on solution designs, technology choices, and delivery approaches with stakeholders. Provide expertise on GIS and geospatial technology to teams and clients. Ensure solutions remain aligned with architectural visions and client outcomes. Represent your team and client in technical governance forums. Influence company-wide architecture practices and standards, especially in GIS technologies. Promote professional development within the engineering team and share best practices. Support the growth of Informed’s engineering capabilities, including recruitment and training. Stay updated with the latest geospatial innovations and industry forums. Requirements Experience with modern, open-standards based architecture patterns for enterprise geospatial solutions. Experience collaborating with client stakeholders on solution architectures. Objective perspective on geospatial technology, services, and data. Proven leadership in design and architectural decision-making. Knowledge of modern geospatial digital services, Earth Observation data, and Geospatial AI (highly desirable). Experience with cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures for GIS. Background in Agile delivery environments and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Understanding of programming languages, distributed systems, cloud tech, and CI/CD pipelines. Desirable Skills Experience with legacy systems integration and modernization. Designing architectures for geospatial data science, Earth Observation, and Machine Learning. Assessing existing solutions using structured frameworks. Handling sensitive data, including PII, in software architectures. Commercial awareness for optimized solution delivery. Managing multiple projects and ensuring quality across GIS deliverables. Relevant professional certifications and awareness of public sector standards. Personal Qualities Leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
