The purpose of the role is to act as the Testing & Quality Assurance lead within an agile squad or project team, helping to deliver high quality software and to identify and verify third-party applications. Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Working with squad and project team members to identify test and QA requirements;
  • Developing test strategies and plans covering functional, integration and, where appropriate, user acceptance testing;
  • Creating and executing tests and carrying out hands-on testing yourself;
  • Monitoring testing progress, errors, fixes and re-testing;
  • Providing clear, up to date and timely reporting and feedback to squads and project managers to enable them to prioritise remaining work;
  • Working closely with scrum/agile teams and engineers to continually evolve the use of modern software development and deployment methodologies, including scripting and automated testing.

You will report into a Lead Quality Assurance Analyst and work as part of a small team of fellow QA Analysts.

Must Have:

  • ISTQB Software Testing certification.
  • A good understanding of, and experience working with, structured test methods and processes.
  • Experience of test management and defect management using Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge and experience of best practice in both manual and automated testing.
  • Experience of testing differing types of applications and scenarios, e.g. web, data and mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory.
  • Medium to strong SQL skills (understanding and writing).
  • Knowledge of data models and dimensional models, together with a solid reporting skill set.
  • Previous experience of data testing, ETL and testing large volumes of data.
  • Experience of working within a cross-functional delivery squad or scrum team alongside Product Owners, Scrum Masters and other agile roles.

Nice to Have:

  • Power BI and data visualisation skills.
