Overview

We are seeking a driven and experienced Paraplanner to join our team at IFP. Reporting directly to the Senior Paraplanner, your main responsibilities involve writing financial planning and suitability reports and letters, ensuring documents are compliant and technically accurate. You will work within a team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients, managing tasks from research through to report writing and form preparation.

Location: Hessle, East Riding of Yorkshire

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time Hours: 35 hours per week

You will work within a team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients, managing tasks from research through to report writing and form preparation.

Reporting to: Senior Paraplanner and ultimately to our Executive Director, Joe

Key Responsibilities:

  • Writing financial planning and suitability reports and letters using appropriate research tools to achieve the best client outcomes.
  • Ensuring client files (Fact Find, Adviser meeting notes, product information) are complete and accurate.
  • Ensuring client files, suitability reports and letters are compliant and technically accurate, liaising with compliance support as needed.
  • Obtaining illustrations, information and valuations from product providers as required.
  • Completing and checking tax calculations where necessary.
  • Submitting business to providers promptly and within agreed timescales.
  • Providing support and training to educate and guide other staff members where required.
  • Assisting with research required by IFP’s Proposition Team.
  • Following processes and workflows in line with IFP standards.
  • Maintaining daily task organiser, planning workload and meeting deadlines.
  • Delivering a professional service for clients, providers, partners, and visitors.
  • Working in line with IFP’s CPD and T&C schemes.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Achieved CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (essential).
  • Working towards CII Level 6 Chartered Financial Planner (desirable).
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a paraplanning role.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365; knowledge of Intelligent Office is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong English language and mathematical skills.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality work with great attention to detail.
