We are the national regulator and scrutiny body responsible for providing assurance and protection for people who experience care services, their families, carers and the wider public, as well as supporting delivery partners to improve the quality of care for people in Scotland. Our vision is that people across Scotland experience high quality care that meets their needs, rights and choices.

We are a scrutiny body that supports improvement. We inspect individual care services and we also work with other scrutiny bodies to inspect the social care and social work services people are experiencing in their local areas.

Our desire is to achieve an effective and balanced way of working, that enables us to meet organisational needs and achieve a work-life balance that promotes wellbeing and collaboration opportunities. Our hybrid working policy gives you the flexibility to mix working from home with attendance at your base office and other work locations, spending no more than 60% of your working time working from home, measured over a 4-week period.

We are looking for an Information Governance Assistant to join the Information Governance (IG) team. You will play a key role in supporting the IG team to deliver their Improvement Plans for the Digital and Hard Copy records as well as learning more about the statutory requests we must service and assisting us in meeting the prescribed deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the IG team at the Care Inspectorate as we continue to define processes and policies which will help the organisation to improve and embed their understanding of Information Governance. The role will require engagement with external partners and Regulators, as well as stakeholders from across the organisation and will therefore provide a good understanding as to how the Care Inspectorate works at all levels.

The duties for this role include:

  • IG Meeting and diary arrangements
  • Secretariat for IG team and meetings
  • Monitoring the IG inbox
  • Logging and recording material in Onetrust
  • Responding to enquiries
  • Requesting and scheduling material to support statutory and other requests
  • Supporting the Hard Copy contract.

You should be educated to SCQF level 6 or have the relevant skills and experience for this role. You should also have or be willing to work towards the FOISA Practitioner certificate.

You will provide critical support to a highly motivated team of Information Governance professionals ensuring the maintenance and improvement of our information governance and data protection programme. You will have excellent planning, organisation and communication skills and enthusiasm to match. We are keen to hear from candidates who have experience in a support role who may be looking for a new development opportunity within the specialist area of information governance and compliance.
