We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced People Business Partner to join our People Business Partnering team on a 12-month maternity cover contract basis. Likely start early to mid-August 2026. The People Business Partners support the business and its people, guiding line managers and frontline colleagues with resources to succeed. They lead business area–specific HR initiatives, such as workforce planning and changes programs, and act as trusted advisors to execute plans and activate talent frameworks tailored to the needs of the business areas they support. The role involves hands-on delivery of key people initiatives in support of the strategic people plan, and close collaboration with the four Pillars – Transformation, Culture, Professional Learning & OD, and People and Policy Relations.
Responsibilities
- Support line managers and frontline colleagues with guidance and resources to succeed.
- Lead business area–specific HR initiatives, including workforce planning and execution of changes programs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to help execute plans and activate talent frameworks/initiatives tailored to the business area.
- Drive and deliver key people initiatives into the business in support of the strategic people plan.
- Collaborate with people colleagues from the four Pillars to implement the Global People Strategy within own area.
- Work with the Strategic People Partner Lead to provide support for ad-hoc People Team projects with a solution-focused mindset.
- Build strong relationships with managers and their teams through active listening, problem‑solving, and agreed plans for effective forward motion.
- Partner with the POE (Shared Service) team and across Pillar teams to support delivery of the Global People Strategy.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of HR business partnering experience across the full employee lifecycle, ideally within a global environment, with strong performance management, talent acquisition, change management skills.
- Strong Talent Planning skills and deep knowledge of the talent process across the employee lifecycle.
- Experience of successfully executing reorganizations.
- Experience and a commitment to driving commercial and customer-focused People initiatives.
- Strong project management experience with proficiency in relevant tools and processes.
- Strong data analysis skills and data-led storytelling ability.
- Knowledge of employment legislation.
- Experience of working with Trade Unions (useful in the UK).
- Evidence of working cross-functionally and effectively influencing stakeholders.
- Ability to listen effectively and coach at all levels with an empathetic and inclusive mindset.
- Willingness to contribute to day-to-day activities as well as strategic BP work.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and in the 'grey' area.
- HRBP background plus experience in one Centre of Excellence (e.g., TA, L&D, ER, DEI, etc.).
Location and eligibility
The successful candidate will be able to utilise a balanced working model and should live within a commutable distance of our office in Milton Park, Oxfordshire, to attend the office three days per week.
