Informa Markets, a division within Informa, creates global platforms for industries. We organise over 500 large-scale branded and transaction-oriented events in 14 specialist markets. These are typically not-to-be-missed annual events where buyers and sellers build relationships, see and show products and do business. We also provide year-round online platforms where companies showcase their businesses and products and buyers conduct research, generating valuable leads, and we provide data and digital content that supports the flow of knowledge and transactions in markets.

This role is based in our 240 Blackfriars office. The Senior Conference Producer is a dynamic role that combines market research, strategic planning, and operational excellence to deliver impactful conferences within the renewable energy sector. This role is at the intersection of content creation, speaker engagement, and event profitability, requiring an adept professional who can identify emerging trends, craft compelling agendas, and deliver revenue-driven events. Leveraging strong research techniques, market insights, and customer understanding, the Senior Conference Producer defines and manages event strategies while collaborating closely with marketing, sales, and operational teams to ensure seamless execution.

The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, industry knowledge, and teamwork, ensuring events meet deadlines and financial targets. Additionally, this role involves mentoring junior staff, fostering thought leadership through content creation, and consistently enhancing the company's market position in the renewable energy industry. Role Accountability and Duties

  • Conduct Comprehensive Research
  • The ability to map an industry and build a research campaign.
  • A high level of competence with primary research calls.
  • The ability to arrange and conduct structured research calls and interviews to gather actionable insights.
  • The ability to analyse customer drivers for attendees and sponsors to shape event strategies.
  • Competence with briefing sponsorship, delegate sales and marketing teams.
  • A high level of competence with content marketing e.g. webinars, articles, infographics.
  • Experience of launch and repeat events.
  • Event Design and Structure
    • Ability to identify and define engaging and sponsorable conference topics.
    • Ability to transform research notes into well-structured event agendas.
    • Ability to select appropriate formats (e.g., presentations, panels, roundtables) and develop profitable add-ons.
  • Speaker Management
    • Ability to identify and invite relevant speakers, crafting effective outreach and follow-ups.
    • Manage speaker objections and secure confirmations for participation.
    • Coordinate with speakers pre-event and ensure smooth onsite execution of schedules.
  • Marketing and Copywriting
    • Write impactful marketing and website copy to drive interest and attendance.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling sponsorship and delegate sales briefs.
  • Event Commercials and Profitability
    • Develop commercially attractive conference programs with optimal ticket pricing strategies.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing to enhance revenue opportunities through events.
    • Ability to show how your efforts have contributed to the growth of an event portfolio.
  • Time and Task Management
    • Implement effective time management techniques and identify opportunities for task automation.
    • Prioritize tasks to ensure seamless execution of event planning milestones.
  • Sales and Marketing Integration
    • Work with marketing teams on in-depth data gap analyses and actionable insights.
    • Develop cohesive strategies that align sponsorship, delegate sales, and marketing efforts.
  • Event and Speaker Execution
    • Host and manage conference rooms onsite, ensuring timely coordination with speakers and team members.
    • Collaborate with event managers and team members to guarantee successful event delivery.
  • Software Proficiency
    • Utilize tools like Salesforce, Aventri, WordPress, and MapYourShow to enhance event planning, tracking, and reporting efficiency.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience or in a similar role involved with live content development and production.
    • Prior knowledge or experience in manufacturing, electronics, energy storage or automotive a plus.
    • Excellent scheduling, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to write marketable session descriptions and agendas (copywriting).
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment.
    • Masterful multi-tasking abilities.
    • Comfort with cold-calling potential speakers and alumni delegates/attendees for research.
