This role is based in our 240 Blackfriars, London office. As a DevOps Engineer supporting AI workloads, you will design, automate, and operate cloud infrastructure for model serving, vector databases, high-performance compute, and data pipelines. You will drive Infrastructure-as-Code adoption, ensure secure and scalable deployment paths, and maintain reliable environments across AWS and Azure. You will partner with AI engineers, data teams, and product stakeholders to enable production-ready AI services that scale efficiently and meet enterprise requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Build and operate cloud environments for AI platforms, including GPU compute, vector stores, RAG pipelines, and real-time inference services.
- Implement IaC and deployment automation using Terraform, ARM/Bicep, and modern CI/CD workflows.
- Manage core infrastructure layers: networking, identity, storage, DNS, certificates, and security controls.
- Implement observability for AI workloads—latency, throughput, token usage, cost, GPU utilization, and service health.
- Automate provisioning, scaling, secret management, runtime configuration, and environment lifecycle.
- Partner with engineering teams to onboard new models, data sources, and services into production.

AI-Specific Infrastructure:
- Vector DBs & retrieval systems (OpenSearch, PGVector, Qdrant, Redis)
- Model hosting & orchestration (SageMaker, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, custom containerized models)
- Secure data pipelines for ingestion (ETL, batching, streaming, lineage)
- GPU and accelerated compute environments (NVIDIA frameworks, CUDA drivers, inference runtimes)
General Tooling:
- GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps / Code Pipeline
- Linux admin, networking, SSL, DNS, CDNs, WAFs
- Shell + Python automation
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in DevOps, CloudOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles
- Experience operating production workloads on AWS and/or Azure
- Strong Linux, networking, IAM, RBAC, and security fundamentals
- Experience with vector databases, ML infrastructure, or GPU-based systems
- Proficiency with IaC (Terraform, ARM/Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to troubleshoot performance, latency, networking, and system reliability issues
