This role is based in our 240 Blackfriars office. We are seeking an ambitious, proactive and commercially minded Sales Executive to join Solar Media’s Sponsorship team at Informa. Working across a portfolio of market-leading solar, energy storage and clean energy events, this role will focus on generating new business opportunities, building relationships with industry stakeholders, and driving sponsorship, exhibition, digital and marketing revenue growth within the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will help companies across the clean energy sector connect with valuable audiences through sponsorship, thought leadership, branding and marketing opportunities. This role will suit someone who is proactive, confident with new business and focused on building trusted, long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business revenue through the sale of sponsorship, exhibition, digital and marketing solutions across multiple Solar Media events and platforms.
  • Identify, target and engage prospective clients within the solar, energy storage, clean energy and related technology sectors.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, market research and structured sales activity.
  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their business objectives and aligning sponsorship solutions to meet their goals.
  • Create relevant, commercially compelling proposals that connect client objectives with Solar Media’s audiences, content and event platforms.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and proposal development through negotiation, contract closure and account handover.
  • Collaborate with event production, marketing, editorial and customer success teams to deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Attend industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to generate leads, build sector knowledge and strengthen market presence.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management and CRM records.
  • Meet and exceed individual revenue targets and key performance indicators.

Qualifications Skills and Experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience in B2B sales, sponsorship sales, media sales, delegate sales or a related commercial environment.
  • Proven ability to generate new business and consistently achieve revenue targets.
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Able to understand client needs, spot commercial opportunities and turn market insight into relevant sales conversations.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior-level stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and resilient, with confidence in opening new conversations and creating opportunities.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Collaborative, low-ego and comfortable working across sales, marketing, production, editorial and customer success teams.
  • Experience or interest in the renewable energy, solar, energy storage or sustainability sectors would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
