The Senior Analyst will be a key member of Omdia's Cloud and Data Center research team in the UK, responsible for delivering insights and analysis on the global data center industry with a particular focus on data center power and infrastructure. The individual must be data-driven, results-oriented, and passionate about tracking the evolution of data center technologies, sustainability initiatives, and infrastructure trends. A strong understanding of the data center ecosystem including hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise facilities is essential. The individual will be part of a globally dispersed team and must be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage with senior executives from around the world.
Impact you'll make
- Drive research and provide strategic insights into data center market trends, helping operators, vendors, and investors make informed infrastructure and investment decisions.
- Conduct primary research with data center operators, equipment vendors, and power providers to deliver actionable market intelligence.
- Create and deliver high-quality research deliverables to clients, including market forecasts, trend reports, technology assessments, and presentations.
- Present research findings and strategic recommendations to C-level executives and senior decision-makers at client organizations.
- Contribute to global research projects focused on data center capacity, power infrastructure, cooling technologies, and sustainability trends.
- Monitor and analyze developments in data center power systems, including backup power, renewable energy integration, and energy efficiency innovations.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the data center industry, including infrastructure components, operational models, and market dynamics.
- Deep understanding of or keen interest in data center power systems, including UPS, generators, batteries, power distribution, and emerging energy technologies.
- Ability to identify and analyze market trends, technology shifts, and their business implications for clients.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, conducting interviews with industry executives, and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to work with complex datasets and market models.
- Experience with or strong interest in digital research tools and AI-powered analytics.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global team environment.
- Willingness to continuously learn and share knowledge across the team.
- Prior experience in data center research, infrastructure analysis, or technology market research is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is essential; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Excellent English language skills (written and verbal) are essential.
