This role is based in our 240 Blackfriars office. Are you a seasoned event professional with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Event Manager for the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities- Event Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and post-event analysis of regional events across the EMEA region, with a primary focus on the EMEA Canalys Forum in Barcelona. Deliver five-star event experiences tailored to senior-level audiences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define event goals, themes, and target audiences, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Budget Management: Oversee a budget exceeding $2 million, ensuring cost-effectiveness and strategic allocation of funds. Monitor and report budget status to the department head and VP of Events, ensuring transparency and accountability. Define and implement KPIs to measure event success and impact, ensuring continuous improvement.
- P&L Impact: Leverage data insights to make informed resource allocation decisions. Understand and communicate the impact of events on overall company performance.
- Vendor Management and Negotiation: Source, evaluate, and negotiate vendor contracts to optimize costs and maintain quality. Serve as the regional point of contact for supplier issues, fostering strong relationships and addressing concerns promptly. Identify potential risks associated with events and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
- Knowledge & Skills: Proven experience in B2B event management, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in the technology sector. Familiarity with the IT channel ecosystem, including MSPs, SMBs, resellers, VARs, distributors, vendors, and media. Proficiency in event management software and apps, with the ability to integrate in-person and digital event formats seamlessly. Strong skills in budgeting, vendor management, and full event project management. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders. Resourceful, solution-oriented, and highly organized, with a keen attention to detail. Willingness to work across global time zones, adapt to non-standard hours, and travel domestically and internationally as needed. Innovative event planning and marketing strategies focused on driving engagement and results.
- Experience & Qualifications: 5+ years of proven experience in B2B event management, preferably in the technology sector. Strong commercial awareness of the IT industry and its ecosystem. Demonstrated ability to manage senior event executives and established supplier relationships. A track record of delivering high-quality events under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Self-motivated, committed, and eager to learn and develop new skills.
