Job Description
The IBI business is in growth, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Content Editor to join the IBI Editorial team. This newly created role reflects the investment being made to enhance IBI's digital proposition and drive digital subscription revenues (80% of IBI's digital content is paywalled). The Digital Content Editor will play a key role in delivering a digital-first publishing strategy for IBI, ensuring the website and newsletter content is engaging, timely, and optimised for subscription sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Content Management
- Create and manage website article production, ensuring articles are published to a high standard.
- Plan and execute the digital editorial calendar, scheduling content publishing onsite and offsite.
- Ensure all website content is up-to-date and published on time.
- Curate and coordinate unique digital content, including special features, market reports, and product reviews.
- Optimise pre-paywall content to drive subscription sales.
- Curate the homepage and channel pages to maximise engagement.
- Content Innovation & Commercial Opportunities
- Identify key articles that drive subscription conversion and high engagement.
- Review competitors and other B2B publishers to recommend innovative content and commercial opportunities.
- Manage and oversee commercial content delivery across digital platforms.
- Influence the commissioning process to maximise digital and paid content opportunities.
- Newsletter & Event Content
- Deliver daily editorial promotion content across newsletters.
- Exploit content opportunities around events for paid exclusive content, including video, audio, and articles.
- Support the creation of event materials, such as press releases.
- Lead elements of on-stage support at events, where required.
- Industry Engagement
- Be present at boat shows and industry events to report and build content opportunities.
- Work with the Editor to develop supporting video and podcast content.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience Required
- Organised, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience working in a publishing/content environment is essential.
- Experience in the leisure marine industry, specifically B2B, is essential.
- Education to A-level standard is essential; a degree qualification is desired.
