The Smarter Shows portfolio includes a number of market-leading advanced manufacturing expo events with affiliated free-to-attend conferences, located primarily in North America and Germany. Reporting to our Conference Production Manager, as one of our conference producers you’ll play a central role within the company, collaborating across all departments and taking the lead in understanding your markets and developing conference programmes, webinars, and other content for the brands you will be looking after.

During a typical day, you could be conducting research calls with senior executives of the world’s most prominent companies, analysing delegate lists to understand visitor trends, or proofing and providing feedback on marketing materials. Conference production can be a very rewarding career, but it is not for the faint-hearted. The work is dynamic and diverse but can be challenging at times as we are working to meet deadlines and performance targets. The role and responsibilities:

  • Project management and production of content and conferences in your care
  • Writing engaging copy for conference programmes, webinars, speaker interviews, blog posts, etc.
  • Desk and phone research to identify market trends, hot topics, and new conference opportunities
  • Building relationships with key industry figures and speaker acquisition
  • Cross-functional collaboration with sales and marketing on sponsorship and marketing deliverables
  • Delivery of the event on-site

As a Conference Producer, you directly contribute to development by creating meaningful conversations and valuable networking opportunities through workshops, panel discussions and innovative event sessions. The role provides a dynamic work environment that fosters cross-departmental collaboration, allowing you to work with interesting teams.
