This role is based in our 5 Howick Place office. We are looking for a Senior Conference Producer to join our content team for Africa Tech Festival, an iconic annual event held in the breathtaking city of Cape Town. With a legacy spanning 28 years, Africa Tech Festival is a premier event that delivers exceptional value to its attendees.
As a Senior Conference Producer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the agenda content for our core audiences, including telecom operators, tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors. This is an opportunity to leverage your research skills, creativity, and ambition to elevate an already market-leading event. You’ll be part of a high-performing, supportive team that values collaboration and enjoyment in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct in-depth market research through phone interviews to understand the needs and motivations of our audience groups.
- Develop a deep understanding of the African telecoms and tech ecosystem, including buying and selling relationships, to support the event’s commercial growth.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and create innovative, engaging agenda content that addresses the most relevant and pressing topics.
- Identify and secure top-tier industry leaders to speak at Africa Tech Festival, ensuring the event features the best voices in the field.
- Contribute to the overall product planning and positioning of the event, ensuring it remains a market leader.
- Work closely with the marketing team to craft compelling promotional copy and support content marketing campaigns that resonate with our audience.
- Partner with the sponsorship team to identify new target markets, articulate value propositions, and join sales calls with prospective sponsors.
- Take charge of content stages during the event and provide hands-on support to ensure its success.
- A naturally curious mindset with a sharp eye for detail, enabling you to uncover key insights and trends.
- Proven ability to establish and nurture relationships with senior industry leaders and government figures.
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining focus and delivering results.
- A proactive, can-do mindset that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and convey ideas.
- Flexibility to navigate challenges and adapt to changing circumstances with resilience.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in conference production, showcasing your ability to deliver high-quality events.
We believe that great things happen when people connect face-to-face. That's why we work in-person with each other, or with customers and partners, three days a week or more. When you’re not spending time together in one of our offices or other workplaces – like at an Informa event – you get the flexibility and support to work from home or remotely.
Our benefits include:
- A welcoming culture with in-person and online social events, our fantastic Walk the World charity day and active diversity and inclusion networks.
- Take up to four days per year to volunteer, with charity match funding available too.
- The opportunity to develop your career with bespoke training and learning, mentoring platforms and on-demand access to thousands of courses on LinkedIn Learning.
- 25 days annual leave, rising to 27 days after two years, plus a birthday leave day and the chance to work from (almost!) anywhere for up to four weeks a year.
- A flexible range of personal benefits to choose from, plus company funded private medical cover.
- A ShareMatch scheme that allows you to become an Informa shareholder with free matching shares.
- Strong wellbeing support through EAP assistance, mental health first aiders, a healthy living subsidy, access to health apps and more.
- Recognition for great work, with global awards and kudos programmes.
- The chance to collaborate with teams around the world.
