This position will be based in London and require you to be in the office 3 days a week. We’re looking for a bright and enthusiastic marketing executive to join one of Informa’s B2B conference divisions. The ideal candidate would have one to three years’ marketing experience, preferably gained in the events industry. If you have an eye for detail and analytics but are also creative and a skillful, persuasive writer, this could be the job for you. The role is quite autonomous, requiring someone with outstanding prioritisation, time management and multi-tasking skills. You’d work on a range of conferences, with continuous hands-on learning in a range of marketing disciplines and a friendly, team-orientated work environment. You'd be based in our central London office three days per week, with the choice to work from home on the remaining two days.
The marketing executive is responsible for the overall promotion of each conference, including the planning and execution of integrated web, email and social media campaigns. Detailed responsibilities include:
- Write and execute email marketing campaigns
- Plan and create social media campaigns
- Negotiate with external media partners and associations
- Source qualified prospects for database build
- Contact event speakers and sponsors for advocacy marketing
- Set up and manage the event app
- Design the imagery for use on emails, social media and third-party marketing
- Use internal reports and Google Analytics to monitor results, assess against goals and amend activities accordingly
Ideal Requirements:
- 1-3 years in a marketing role, preferably in the events industry
- University degree or professional diploma
- Excellent attention to detail
- Exceptional organisational, time management and multi-tasking skills
- Strong copywriting skills
- Good analytical skills, numeracy and the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Ability to work autonomously using common sense and initiative, whilst at the same time being a team player
- Experience in planning, writing and executing email campaigns
- Proficiency using Photoshop, Google Analytics, CRM systems, executing social media and PPC campaigns would be a bonus
Candidates will complete two short copywriting tests and a data-analysis/numeracy test during the first interview. Those who progress to the second interview will be asked to prepare a project (a detailed event marketing campaign) and to present their plan during the second interview.
