As the Senior Pricing Manager for the Open Access division you will play a key role in shaping the future of Academic Publishing. Your responsibilities will include managing pricing strategies for Hybrid and Fully Open Journals, transformative agreements, and Open Books. This position demands a strategic thinker with expertise in value-based pricing, future-oriented business models, and a strong bias towards automation and AI-driven approaches.

This is a dynamic and proactive role that requires energy, drive, and a commitment to fostering a culture of accelerated delivery. You will be instrumental in driving cross-functional alignment and delivering impactful results, utilising influence rather than direct authority to make a meaningful contribution to organisational growth. You will work closely with the Global Director of Pricing to achieve a wide range of organisational objectives. This role is open to UK-based candidates and requires attendance at our Milton Park office three days per week.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Pricing Strategy Development: Lead Strategic Pricing Engagements, manage and execute multiple strategic pricing projects, own and deliver implementation, define and track key metrics, lead and communicate change, team management, and strategic alignment.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, deliver regular status reports to the executive leadership team.
  • Workflow Automation: Develop and implement advanced AI algorithms, design and deploy automated systems for pricing updates and performance tracking.

  • Pricing Expertise: Proven ability to develop and implement impactful pricing strategies.
  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to lead and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Analytical Mastery: Advanced analytical skills such as SQL, Python, and R.
  • AI and Automation First: Proven bias towards advanced AI technologies.
  • Exceptional Communication: Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.

Experience

  • Experience of leading the development and implementation of new pricing strategies in the data information services industry.
  • Demonstrable strategic pricing background either via a niche strategy consultancy or in-house Strategic Pricing Team.
  • Proven experience in the definition and automation of pricing performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated success in executing global initiatives across multiple countries.
  • Experience within the Open Access pricing function of an Academic Publisher is highly desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our office at Milton Park to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office locations to collaborate as required.
