Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our legal team supporting the diverse and dynamic operations of the Informa Markets division across multiple teams across UK/Europe, Middle East, India, Türkiye, and Africa regions.

In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Head of Legal, playing a critical role in ensuring legal compliance, providing strategic legal guidance, and contributing to the success of our global operations.

As a Legal Counsel, your responsibilities will include:

  • Commercial Contracts: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of commercial contracts, such as event venue contracts, customer terms and conditions, supply chain agreements, IT agreements, marketing and barter agreements, licensing terms, confidentiality agreements, and procurement RFPs with associated terms and collaboration agreements.
  • Legal Support: Responding to ad hoc legal queries from Informa Markets’ divisions and supporting the Head of Legal with business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
  • Intellectual Property: Advising on IP-related issues and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Data Compliance: Advising on arrangements with data processors, ensuring contracts are robust and required data processing addendums are in place.
  • Risk Management: Working with Compliance and other functions on discrete compliance and internal audit projects if required, such as anti-bribery and corruption, trade sanctions, and health and safety.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with internal teams across divisions and liaising with external counsel as required.

Qualifications

  • A qualified lawyer with around 3 years post-qualification experience. PQE is given as a guide only. This will not be a determining factor of suitability and applicants of other levels of PQE may apply.
  • Demonstrable commercial experience gained in a well-respected law firm, with secondment experience or experience in a prior in-house role.
  • Good team player who has a growth mindset and a desire to assist with a variety of tasks.
  • A passion for problem-solving and navigating complex legal landscapes.
  • The ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across multiple regions.
  • Experience of cross-border work would be an advantage.
  • Experience of the events industry would be desirable but is not essential.

This posting will automatically expire on 1/27/2024.
