Are you an experienced Engineering / Maintenance Manager within the Manufacturing sector? Then this is the role for you. You will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling and execution of both corrective and preventive maintenance for manufacturing process equipment, ensuring compliance with procedures, policies, and Health and Safety regulations. You will be involved in creating detailed shutdown schedules, representing the Engineering team in cross-functional meetings, developing standard operating procedures, providing on-call support, and managing the performance of the maintenance team. Standard hours of work will be Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, however flexibility to work overtime and/or Saturdays as necessary is essential.
Duties Include:
- Ensuring that safety standards are maintained and that all works are carried out in a safe manner in line with agreed safe systems of work.
- Ensure that there are risk assessments and method statements in place before undertaking works.
- Minimise downtime of machinery to ensure the factory runs as efficiently as possible.
- Planning and coordinating both routine and non-routine work to include adjustment of daily schedule in line with urgent requests, breakdowns etc including coordination of sub-contractors.
- Design & update maintenance strategies, procedures and methods for all works carried out.
- Provide work schedules for the maintenance team under your control to include the routine and non-routine works, coordinating with the Production Supervisors.
- Implement regular machinery checks according to the planned schedule.
- Diagnose, report and resolve any breakdown problems. This includes fault finding analysis and reporting recommendations to Management.
- Control and maintain tools, the maintenance store and equipment.
- Manage stock of spare parts to ensure rapid repairs.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs within set budgets.
- Liaise with service providers in obtaining fittings, components and fixtures and other services.
- Regular fire checks and tests of the fire alarm as required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work using computerised systems.
- Write reports and keep records daily of work completed for your team.
- Keep up to date with the machinery and equipment used within the company including its uses and the operators of the machinery to gain knowledge of the faults and maintenance requirements.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 4+ years experience in an Engineering / Maintenance Management role.
- Ability to work to established Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Standards.
- Ability to work on your own and within a Team Environment.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office packages.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required both planned and at short notice.
