LaSalle Investment Management is hiring a Vice President for its Debt Investments team, a specialist business investing in structured real estate debt — whole loans, levered whole loans, mezzanine loans, development financing, and preferred equity structures — across residential, commercial, alternative, and operational real estate sectors in Europe. Set up in 2010, the team has become one of the largest providers of alternative finance for commercial real estate in Europe, having deployed approximately €6.4 billion across around 120 transactions as of August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, negotiate, and execute complex structured debt investment opportunities from origination through closing, acting as deal lead with analyst support.
- Build financial models, coordinate with external advisors, and perform detailed due diligence.
- Prepare investment committee memoranda and present recommendations to the investment committee.
- Work closely with the loan asset management team throughout the investment lifecycle, from acquisition through realization.
- Provide guidance and technical mentorship to junior team members, including reviewing financial models and coaching on due diligence.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in real estate investment banking, institutional commercial real estate lending, or principal real estate investing/development.
- Demonstrated credit analysis expertise: underwriting, covenant structuring, borrower assessment, and security package evaluation.
- Understanding of European property fundamentals and loan documentation/legal frameworks across European jurisdictions.
- Strong investment judgment across capital structures and market conditions.
- Deal origination experience and relationships within European debt capital markets a plus; European languages an advantage.
