J.P. Morgan Asset Management's Global Alternatives Group (Global Alts) is seeking a Vice President on the Acquisitions Team of the Global Transportation Group (GTG) in London. Global Alts has approximately $168 billion of assets under management across Real Estate, Infrastructure, Transportation, Private Equity, Private Credit, and Liquid Alternatives, with over 700 professionals worldwide.
Role Overview: The position plays an important role in GTG's investment strategy, developing the identification and execution of corporate M&A transactions. The team invests in transportation sectors including maritime, energy logistics, aviation, railcar, container leasing, and vehicle fleets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pipeline development: work with GTG senior management to analyze and identify potential acquisition targets
- Valuation and pricing: build analytical models to value potential acquisitions within the context of GTG's investment returns requirements
- Lead due diligence processes across legal, financial, commercial, and operational workstreams
- Guide junior team members on strategies that drive value through the acquisition process including merger models, projection and synergies analysis, negotiations, and financing
- Construct comprehensive valuation analyses and financial models
Requirements:
- 7+ years of banking experience within a top-tier / bulge bracket bank in M&A or Transportation Industry coverage
- Proven track record in corporate M&A with command over the full transaction process
- Strong command of legal documents underpinning corporate acquisitions (shareholder agreements, definitive agreements, JV agreements)
- Experience or interest in transportation sectors strongly preferred
- M&A banking experience coupled with a legal degree or background is ideal
- Excellent analytical, financial, and organizational skills
