MUFG Mid-Market Direct Lending team originates and executes middle market leveraged buyout transactions with financial sponsors. The Director serves as deal captain, structuring and executing Term Loans and Unitranche facilities to support Private Equity sponsors in LBO transactions. The role requires originating PE sponsor-driven Middle Market transactions consistent with MUFG targeted sponsor framework, target size range, and specific geographic focus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate and execute Private Equity sponsor-driven Middle Market transactions
  • Act as deal captain to structure and execute Term Loans and Unitranche facilities supporting PE sponsors LBO transactions
  • Build and maintain relationships with middle market private equity sponsors
  • Lead transaction structuring, credit analysis, underwriting and deal execution
  • Work with internal credit, legal and operations teams throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Monitor portfolio performance and support ongoing client coverage

The ideal candidate has significant experience in leveraged finance, direct lending, or private credit with a strong track record in middle market sponsor coverage. Deep understanding of LBO transaction structures, credit analysis, and financial modeling is essential.
