We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the integration frameworks, services, and platform capabilities that connect AI technologies with the Infor MES platform and wider Manufacturing portfolio. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on enabling AI-driven experiences, intelligent workflows, and agent-based solutions through secure and scalable integration patterns. Working closely with the Principal AI Lead, you will develop the tools, APIs, orchestration frameworks, and service layers that allow AI services, agents, and enterprise applications to interact effectively with manufacturing processes and operational data. As AI becomes an increasingly important differentiator within manufacturing software, this role will help establish the reusable engineering foundations required to support future AI capabilities across the product portfolio. Reporting to a Development Manager within the MES engineering organisation, you will collaborate closely with Product Management, Architecture, Engineering, Cloud Operations, and Infor OS teams to deliver production-ready AI solutions.

A Typical Day in the Life Includes:

  • Designing and building integrations between MES services and AI platforms.
  • Developing tools, connectors, and orchestration services used by AI agents and intelligent applications.
  • Building secure APIs and service layers that expose MES business capabilities to AI-enabled solutions.
  • Developing reusable frameworks and patterns for tool execution, agent interaction, and workflow orchestration.
  • Working closely with the Principal AI Lead to define integration standards, platform capabilities, and architectural approaches.
  • Collaborating with cloud, product, and engineering teams to deliver AI-enabled manufacturing solutions.
  • Supporting the development of intelligent workflows spanning production, quality, maintenance, inventory, warehouse, and connected worker operations.
  • Designing and implementing event-driven integration patterns using modern cloud-native approaches.
  • Evaluating and implementing emerging AI integration technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices.
  • Helping establish engineering standards for security, observability, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • Contributing to technical design discussions and architecture reviews.
  • Mentoring and supporting other engineers as AI capabilities become more broadly adopted across the organisation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated background of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications or platforms.
  • Strong hands-on development experience using C# and .NET.
  • Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed application architectures.
  • Experience designing and implementing integrations between enterprise applications and services.
  • Experience with cloud-native development on AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and observability principles.
  • Experience working with event-driven architectures and asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Experience working with relational databases and modern data access technologies.
  • Experience developing reusable frameworks, libraries, or platform components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI platforms, MCP, tool orchestration, agent frameworks, or LLM integration.
  • Experience building applications that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, or semantic search technologies.
  • Experience integrating AI services into enterprise business applications.
  • Experience within Manufacturing, MES, ERP, Industrial IoT, or Operational Technology environments.
  • Experience building SaaS or multi-tenant cloud-native platforms.
  • Experience with event streaming technologies and modern messaging platforms.
  • Experience contributing to technical architecture and engineering standards.

Infor MES is undergoing a significant transformation as we evolve towards a cloud-native SaaS platform and embed AI-driven capabilities throughout the product experience. You will join a highly experienced engineering team with deep manufacturing knowledge, a strong culture of ownership, and a passion for building great software. We move quickly, value innovation, and give engineers the opportunity to turn ideas into production reality. How to prepare for a job interview at Infor

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Infor uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
