As a Functional & Data Consultant at Infor, you will provide expert consultancy bridging business processes and data management, supporting clients to optimize technology solutions and leverage data for strategic decision-making. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to gather requirements, design and implement business and data solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage projects under general supervision while escalating complex issues appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Consultancy and Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and manage elements of consulting projects under senior guidance.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand business needs, collect and analyze data, and translate these into actionable solutions.
- Provide advisory support, problem-solving, and guidance aligned with client objectives and organizational standards.
- Implement stakeholder engagement and communication plans for small to medium projects.
- Manage minor issues and resolutions, ensuring feedback loops for continuous relationship improvement.
- Requirements Definition and Management
- Elicit, analyze, and document detailed functional, non-functional, and data requirements.
- Prioritize requirements using roadmaps, user stories, and backlogs.
- Maintain requirements traceability and support change management processes.
- Challenge and validate requirements constructively to ensure clarity and feasibility.
- Business Process Improvement
- Analyze, redesign, and optimize business processes to improve efficiency and leverage automation and technology innovations.
- Develop graphical business process models for clarity and decision support.
- Tailor and apply methods and tools for continuous process improvement at project or program levels.
- Systems Design and Software Configuration
- Design system components and data workflows using standard design patterns.
- Assist in software configuration and refactoring efforts to meet deployment standards.
- Identify design issues proactively and elevate as needed.
- Participate in peer reviews to maintain quality and compliance.
- Data Strategy, ETL Design, and Data Quality Management
- Engage with business stakeholders to develop data strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data across systems.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, and remediation to ensure high data quality.
- Develop and maintain data governance practices, documentation, and metadata repositories.
- Support data migration and integration activities ensuring consistency and synchronization.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and BI teams to create meaningful visualizations and reports.
- Testing and Problem Management
- Design, execute, and report on test cases and scripts related to both functional and data solutions.
- Participate in reviews of requirements and designs to ensure testability.
- Investigate system, process, and data issues; support implementation of fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Apply manual and automated testing standards to ensure solution quality.

- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Proficiency in BI and analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, Looker).
- Knowledge of data modeling, data governance frameworks, and metadata management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
