As Principal Learning Experience Architect in our dynamic learning consulting business, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our learning initiatives. Leveraging your expertise in instructional design, learning methodologies, and cutting-edge technologies, you will lead the development and implementation of innovative blended learning experiences that align with business objectives and foster a culture of continuous learning and development. You will also spearhead digital innovation efforts with our clients, exploring and implementing emerging technologies to enhance digital learning experiences and outcomes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Learning Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify knowledge and skill gaps within the organization. Determine learning needs at various organizational levels and across different departments. Utilise data analytics and AI-driven insights to predict future learning needs and trends.
  • Learning Program Design: Develop holistic learning strategies and programs addressing identified needs. Design engaging curricula, select appropriate learning methodologies (e.g. facilitated workshops, e-learning, blended learning), and create compelling learning materials. Incorporate adaptive learning techniques and personalised learning paths using AI and machine learning algorithms.
  • Leading Instructional Design Teams: Provide leadership and guidance to instructional design teams. Oversee the development of learning solutions based on defined strategies. Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging experimentation with new digital learning tools and methodologies.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of learning interventions through various evaluation methods. Utilize post-training evaluations, surveys, performance metrics, and feedback for continuous improvement. Implement real-time performance tracking systems and predictive analytics to measure and forecast learning impact.
  • Learning Technology and Tools: Stay updated on emerging learning technologies. Collaborate with instructional design teams to integrate innovative tools into training and development programs. Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of cutting-edge learning technologies, including virtual and augmented reality, AI-powered chatbots, and gamification platforms.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as learning professionals, department heads, and subject matter experts, to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with business goals and to gather input and support for learning programs. Engage with technology partners to explore potential collaborations and stay at the forefront of digital learning innovations.
  • Learning Culture Promotion: Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within and outside the organization. Promote the value of learning, encouraging employee participation, and facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration. Develop and implement digital strategies to create a seamless, always-on learning ecosystem that encourages self-directed learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Learning Analytics and Reporting: Collect and analyze data on learning initiatives. Prepare reports and recommendations for senior management based on the impact of learning interventions.

Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in instructional design, organizational development, education, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in adult learning, instructional design, or organizational psychology are highly desirable.

Experience: 10+ years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, or a related field is usually required. Candidates should have a proven track record of designing and implementing successful learning programs and strategies.

Instructional Design Expertise: In-depth knowledge and expertise in instructional design methodologies, learning theories, and adult learning principles. Experience in designing a variety of learning modalities, such as e-learning, microlearning, simulations, and blended learning approaches.

Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading instructional design teams, providing guidance, feedback, and support to team members. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business objectives and the ability to align learning strategies with organizational goals. Experience in conducting needs assessments, analyzing performance gaps, and translating them into effective learning solutions. Ability to support clients in building business cases for investment in innovative learning technologies and demonstrate their potential impact on organizational performance.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, and other learning technologies. Familiarity with emerging trends in learning technology and a willingness to explore and implement innovative solutions.
