Infrastructure SQL Engineer Roles:

  • To deliver SQL database administration tasks and project tasks for the Bank.
  • This will entail:
    • Building SQL Databases using the Bank's Standard SQL builds for the Application Transformation Project.
    • Coordinating with other Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure the SQL Database build process is completed successfully.
    • Performing Quality Assurance check on new SQL Databases in line with the Banks QA standards.
    • Performing Backups and Restores of SQL Databases for the Bank's services as the project transforms Applications in line with the Bank Project requirements (e.g. upgrading SQL platforms).
    • Remediating any issues that are found post build or post transformation.
    • Performing decommissioning of redundant SQL Databases as directed by the Obsolescence project.
    • Any other Database related tasks to support the Obsolescence project.
    • Support Application Migrations to new infrastructure and Data Centres.

Experience required:

  • Experience in Windows Clustering and other HADR technologies.
  • Experience in administering and deploying to SSRS, SSIS and SSAS environments.
  • Substantial experience of Always On Availability Groups.
  • Substantial experience of SQL 2016 to SQL 2025.
  • Windows 2008R2/2012 experience.
  • Experience of working within a virtualised environment.
