Site Engineer Hours: Monday to Friday – 07.30 am to 17.00 pm (45) Location: Plymouth Devonport Royal Dockyard – reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) About us Infocus Resources is a dynamic construction organisation specialising in Manpower Recruitment to various Sectors including, civils, rail and general construction. About the job We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented experienced Site Engineer to join our dynamic team delivering the redevelopment project at Devonport, Dockyard. The successful candidate will be working on one of the UK’s most significant defence programmes. As a Site Engineer, you'll be working within the Devonport Dockyard team, assisting the Engineer in managing the technical compliance of the project to the design specification to fulfil the assigned project (or section) safely, on time and to the required quality. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Eligibility criteria Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO, or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. About the role As an experienced Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the following: • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings. • Assist in establishing effective systems to record work completed updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly. • Participate in developing quality check sheets and carrying quality checks & surveys. • Assisting with site safety, environmental & quality inspections. • To assist in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity. • Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc. • Assist in providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered. • Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances, from a provided site control. • Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly. • Completing Daily Diaries. • Keeping trackers up to date. • Assist in procurement of site materials and equipment. • Ensures workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out. • Assist in the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding. • To be aware of the provisions of the Kier Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment. • Maintain drawing register. This profile is not exhaustive. From time to time, you may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within your capabilities and, where necessary, training, and full support will be given. Who are we looking for? • Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable – one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship. • May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body. • Familiar in Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels) for Setting Out & Survey. • Experience in reinforced concrete structures using system formwork is essential. • Awareness of commercial processes. • Familiar with Quality Management System and familiar in writing RAMS. • Proven people and project management skills. • Team leader with organisational skills. • Good standard of IT skills. • Flexible to working weekends and out of hours (on a rota basis to suit project requirements). • Supervisor HSE test, CSCS – White AQP card. Licence/Certification: • EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports (preferred).
