This is an exciting opportunity to join the InFocus Supported Living team. We have full and part time opportunities available.
As a Supported Living support worker, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, person-led support, helping each individual to live a happy, fulfilling and meaningful life. You will be an ambassador for InFocus, providing bespoke support that is centred around each person’s needs, wishes, interests and aspirations.
You will provide support that is tailored to each individual, helping residents to make their own decisions and choices about their lives while encouraging independence, confidence and self-advocacy. This may include supporting residents with important life decisions, budgeting and managing money, attending medical appointments, maintaining their health and wellbeing, and navigating everyday challenges.
A key part of the role will be supporting residents to develop and maintain meaningful relationships and friendships. You will help people to build positive connections with others, explore relationships safely and respectfully, and make choices about the people, places and activities that are important to them.
You will also support residents to be active and valued members of their local community. This includes supporting them to access social and leisure activities, develop community connections, and explore community-based work, volunteering and other meaningful opportunities that reflect their interests, skills and aspirations.
Above all, this role is about getting to know each person as an individual, understanding what matters to them and providing the right support to help them have choice, control and a fulfilling life. You will encourage residents to try new things, express their views, develop their confidence and advocate for themselves, while providing reassurance and support when they need it.
Every day will be different, and you will play an important role in helping the people we support to live the life they choose, maintain meaningful relationships, enjoy their communities and make the most of the opportunities available to them.
As a support worker at InFocus charity, you’ll be joining a passionate and caring team who will support you throughout your time here. This role is open to those with or without experience of working in a health and social care setting, who demonstrate their potential to develop into specialised community based enabling support workers in the field of vulnerable young adults with a visual impairment and some complex needs.
The successful candidate will have a passion for their own learning and the teaching of high-quality training to support staff to ensure the delivery of safe, person-centred health care.
