We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux System Administrator to join our IT operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Linux-based infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure system stability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Maintain system security by applying patches and updates regularly
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripts or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
- Monitor system logs and respond to incidents or performance issues
- Collaborate with development and network teams to support CI/CD pipelines and production environments
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures
- Ensure system uptime and reliability according to SLAs
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in Linux administration
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and shell scripting
- Experience with web servers (Apache, NGINX), database servers (MySQL, PostgreSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Linux certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus)
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices
