The purpose of the Sales Director is to ensure delivery of new business revenue and profit margin against the expectations of the UK budget and medium term-plan. The Sales Director will play a crucial role in facilitating and guiding the strategic direction of the services offered to ensure the business are the "go to" company for digital products. In addition, the Sales Director role will be crucial in ensuring the sales team is capable to meet the expectations of our budget and medium-term plan. Utilising coaching, mentoring and training of the sales team and facilitating collaboration with the wider Digital Solutions teams from France and other regions.

- Continually developing and maintaining required pipeline of quality prospects to ensure sales targets are achieved.
- Ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service, striving to constantly exceed expectations.
- Promoting a culture of right first time to give customers the best possible experience.
- Meeting regularly with key customers in order to build positive working relationships and an in-depth understanding of their needs and expectations so as to maintain long term contracts/partnerships.
- Maintaining a constant dialogue with engineering and operational managers to ensure commercial activity operates in tandem with operational constraints / opportunities.
- Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of new business whilst maintaining a positive experience for the customer.
- Maintaining a positive and influential working relationship with all divisions of the wider group to ensure they remain focused and motivated to achieve business growth and enhanced profitability.
- Maintaining open and effective communication with other regions to share information, intelligence and to provide co-ordinated services / approaches to all clients.
- Researching and sharing information to changes within competitor approaches, structures, movement of key staff.
- Constantly reviewing regulatory changes which may affect the industry and share this with key stakeholders.
We’re ideally looking for:
- Bachelor degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or other relatable professional degree.
- Demonstratable and extensive experience post-degree of sales and business development in software sales.
- Knowledge of and experience with optimisation techniques and their application to water and wastewater systems.
- Experience in managing and developing a high performing team to meet yearly budgetary and medium-term plan targets.
- Strong financial/commercial understanding with a proven negotiating skill allied to a track record of successfully winning new customers and expanding the portfolio of existing customers.
- Experience of identifying multiple business drivers such as mix of material, sales value, contract term, material composition, in relation to the business needs and market development.
- Understands the need to operate in a compliant manner whilst at the same time competing in a challenging environment.
- Experience of managing service levels, creating positive customer experience whilst managing expectations, maximising customer loyalty and profits; for both external and internal customers.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external value chain colleagues.
- Ability to think laterally, strategically whilst using an open communication and selling style across all mediums at all levels (internally and externally).
- With an eye for detail on commercial innovation.
- Excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills.
