InfluenceMap is a world-renowned non-profit think tank working on cutting-edge climate and sustainability issues. We are best known for the LobbyMap platform, which analyses corporate policy engagement activities on climate change and biodiversity loss. Our work has been featured in the media globally, used by hundreds of investors, and informed numerous climate campaigns. Other workstreams are the FinanceMap platform – assessing the climate credentials of the financial sector, and the Carbon Majors platform – which tracks emissions from the worlds’ largest polluters. With offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Seoul and Canberra, this is an opportunity to be part of a team of 70+ friendly and dynamic professionals and to help shape our culture as we continue to grow and evolve as an organization. We are seeking a UK-based Analyst to conduct research on companies and industry associations, based on our LobbyMap methodology, which assesses the corporate sector on its advocacy on and engagement with government policy to address the climate and nature crises. This analysis will have an international scope but with a likely focus on India’s corporate sector. Our office is in London, but we will accept applications for remote working in different parts of the country. Full training in our research methods and how to effectively communicate our results will be provided. Our approach is highly data-orientated and involves accuracy, consistency and great attention to detail. Following your training and fully grasping our assessment methodologies and organizational style/processes, you will have the opportunity to engage with and communicate our work to key stakeholders (investors, civil society groups, the media, companies) and make a real impact on the trajectory of the climate and nature agendas.
Requirements
To be successful in this role at InfluenceMap, you should have:
- Outstanding analytical and data analysis skills, with a very strong attention to detail
- Superb research skills, with an interest in investigative research
- Ability to communicate complex issues and data-driven analysis concisely and convincingly
- Advanced IT and software skills across a range of common applications
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Right to work in the UK
Desired skills:
- Hindi language proficiency
