About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Finance Director to join our leadership team on a part-time basis (3–4 days per week). In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the company's financial strategy, overseeing its financial health, and driving both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives. As a senior leader, you will provide commercial insights to support business decisions and help enhance our operational processes to support sustainable growth.
This role requires someone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty with day-to-day financial operations - we're looking for a leader who is comfortable both with strategic oversight and tactical execution of financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all financial operations, including financial planning, analysis, reporting, and cash management
- Oversee and optimise operational functions of the business, driving strategic initiatives and process improvements
- Provide commercial expertise to support monetisation strategies and business growth opportunities
- Oversee financial transactions and processes, including bookkeeping, payroll administration, invoicing, and payment management, with hands-on involvement as needed
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and unit economics analysis
- Manage the end-to-end financial process including management accounts and closing procedures
- Handle statutory and tax compliance globally with advisor support
- Oversee share option schemes with appropriate advisor input
- Manage treasury functions and FX considerations
- Contribute to the long-term business strategy as a key member of the leadership team
- Produce and present monthly/quarterly board reports with actionable insights
- Support Head of Growth and other cross-functional team members with financial guidance and commercial lens
- Manage financial compliance and risk mitigation across UK and US operations
- Develop and implement scalable financial systems and controls to support company growth
Job requirements - Must haves
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent with at least 2-3 years post-qualification experience
- 2+ years in-house financial leadership experience
- Strong understanding of business operations and strategic planning
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset that balances strategic vision with tactical execution
- Comfort with big-picture thinking while also being willing to dive into details when needed
- Understanding of the fast-paced nature of founder-led startups/scale-ups, balancing structure with flexibility
- Ability to work in a remote-friendly environment with a collaborative approach

- Experience in D2C (direct-to-consumer) business models or subscription-based/SaaS business models
- Experience managing financial operations across US parent and UK subsidiary structures
