This position is a full-time position based at our Oxford (UK) site. Infleqtion is seeking a talented and experienced Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team, where you will play a pivotal role in transforming hardware prototypes into manufacturable and scalable products. You will collaborate closely with a diverse team of technical experts, hardware and software engineers, and physicists to ensure the seamless integration of complex systems, and within our product lifecycle process.
- Lead systems engineering for quantum product development, including system-level design and requirements capture.
- Develop and maintain core systems engineering and interface documentation (e.g., Product Requirement Documents, System Requirement Documents, Interface Control Documents etc.) and ensure full traceability from requirements through to implementation and verification.
- Define and execute modelling, simulation, and analytical activities to support design, verification, validation, and lifecycle performance.
- Coordinate assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) and Verification & Validation (V&V) planning, including processes, procedures, test strategies, and engineering support for execution with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies; support reliability analysis.
- Contribute to and promote best practices, tools, and continuous improvement in systems engineering across programmes.
Masters or PhD in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field or equivalent industry experience. Significant experience in systems engineering (ideally 10+ years) within complex, multidisciplinary, high-tech or hardware environments. Experience working with product lifecycle processes for R&D projects within deep and emerging technologies. Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, science, product, or commercial stakeholders). Experience with product lifecycle management and systems engineering frameworks such as UML, IEEE 15288, INCOSE, MSBE, SysML, IEEE 29148 etc. Experience with complex, high-tech or deep-tech systems combining mechanical, electrical, RF, optical, and software components (aerospace, defence, medical devices).
Work will normally be performed in an office and laboratory environment and around technical equipment including computers and lasers. Able to efficiently use automated office equipment such as laptops, copiers, and printers; able to effectively engage in communications (via phone, computer, or in-person).
