Role Summary
As a Finance Operations Analyst, you will support the financial infrastructure of a fast‑moving quantum technology organization.
You will assist in financial reporting, operational accounting, and systems improvement to ensure precise, efficient, and scalable processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Support management reporting by analyzing trends in R&D spending, capital expenditures, and revenue.
- Build and maintain financial dashboards and KPIs to provide visibility across teams.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and support month‑end close activities.
- Help manage expense reporting, vendor invoicing, and purchase orders.
- Support annual budgeting cycles and rolling forecasts.
- Track departmental spend against budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Partner with department leads (including R&D and Operations) to ensure financial alignment with project goals.
- Assist in implementing and optimizing financial systems (ERP, expense management, etc.).
- Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and data integrity.
- Document and streamline processes to support scalability.
- Support internal control testing and documentation.
- Assist with grant accounting, especially for government‑funded quantum programs.
- Prepare data for annual audits and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or operations.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills; experience with ERP or financial systems preferred.
- Understanding of GAAP and basic financial reporting principles.
- Curiosity about quantum technology, research, or deep tech environments.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Preferred Experience
- Experience in a technology, research, or manufacturing organization.
- Exposure to government grant accounting or project‑based cost tracking.
- Familiarity with startups or high‑growth environments.
