This is a full-time position split between our Kidlington, Oxford office and the National Quantum Computing Centre, Harwell.

Work from home permitted up to 2 days per week based on business needs and manager approval.

Role Summary

As a Finance Operations Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial infrastructure of a fast-moving quantum technology organization.

You’ll assist in financial reporting, operational accounting, and systems improvement — ensuring the company’s financial processes are precise, efficient, and ready to scale.

You will lead pricing analysis on govermment bids and new contracts.

This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a passion for both technology and operational excellence.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Assistin preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Support management reporting byanalyzingtrends in R&D spending, capital expenditures, and revenue.
  • Build andmaintainfinancial dashboards and KPIs to provide visibility across teams.
  • Operational Accounting
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and support month-end close activities.
  • Help manage expense reporting, vendor invoicing, and purchase orders.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Support annual budgeting cycles and rolling forecasts.
  • Track departmental spend against budgets and provide variance analysis.
  • Partner with department leads (including R&D and Operations) to ensure financial alignment with project goals.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
  • Assistin implementing andoptimizingfinancial systems (ERP, expense management, etc.).
  • Identifyautomation opportunities to improve efficiency and data integrity.
  • Document and streamline processes to support scalability.
  • Compliance & Audit Support
  • Support internal control testing and documentation.
  • Assistwith grant accounting, especially for government-funded quantum programs.
  • Prepare data for annual audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Pricing Analysis
  • Lead pricing analysis on government bids and new contracts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or operations.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills; experience with ERP or financial systems preferred.
  • Understanding of GAAP and basic financial reporting principles.
  • Curiosity about quantum technology, research, or deep tech environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a technology, research, or manufacturing organization.
  • Exposure to government grant accounting or project-based cost tracking.
  • Familiarity with startups or high-growth environments.
  • Travel

Up to 10% travel may berequired.
