Job Description Job Title REFRIGERATION / AIR CONDITIONING ENGINEER (FULL TIME – 40 HOURS PER WEEK – MON-FRI – EXCLUDING OVERTIME/INCLUSIVE OF CALL OUTS) Salary Negotiable / Subject to Experience £38k-£45k Overtime Monday-Friday + Saturday – 1.5 times hourly rate Sundays and Bank Holidays – 2 times hourly rate Company Vehicle Van + Fuel Card Annual Leave 28 Days (inclusive of Bank Holidays) (Holiday Year: 1 July-30 June) On Call One Weekend in Three Weeks’ Rotation Company Pension The People’s Pension (Contributory) Company Mobile Smart Phone Company Tablet Purpose and Objectives of the Role 1. Install, commission and maintain refrigeration and cooling systems, with a focus on hydrocarbon refrigerants. 2. Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance. 3. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance. 4. Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations related to hydrocarbon refrigerants and equipment operation. 5. Maintain accurate service records and report system status to management. 6. Collaborate effectively with clients and team members to provide timely refrigeration support. Required Skills and Qualifications 1. Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems, specifically with hydrocarbon refrigerants. 2. Strong knowledge of refrigeration components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators and controls. 3. Understanding of safe handling and regulations for hydrocarbon refrigerants. 4. City & Guilds 2078 certification in handling hydrocarbon refrigerants. 5. City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. 6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 7. Ability to interpret technical manuals and system schematics. 8. Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a small team. General Role Requirements 1. Time served experience as a Refrigeration Engineer. 2. Flexibility in working hours is essential for this role, as well as the ability to be on call on a one in every three-week basis. 3. Full clean valid driving licence (any points and penalties will be given further consideration at interview once the number and type have been established). 4. Willingness to travel within the UK and, if necessary, stay away from home. This requirement only occurs from time-to-time. 5. Willingness to train and develop unskilled operative/s when on site. 6. Self-motivation and ability to make independent work-based decisions, giving accurate feedback to the office. 7. Flexible approach to work and key responsibilities. 8. Assisting with the day-to-day operational requirements in the warehouse/stock facility. 9. All equipment allocated to you will be your responsibility and the Company expects that all tools, computers, telephones, vehicles etc. are kept safe, clean and in good operational order. 10. Any accidents, including the breakage of equipment, must be reported to the office by close of play that day. 11. Able to work on own initiative and as part of a two-man team. 12. You should have excellent awareness and knowledge of health and safety practices. 13. Always pay attention to detail. 14. Always provide excellent customer service. 15. You will have exceptional time management skills with an eagerness to learn. Appearance and Conduct 1. You are expected to maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times when on any of the sites. 2. Consuming alcohol on any of the sites is strictly forbidden and could result in immediate dismissal without warning. 3.
