Our super client based in Newbury is seeking an experienced and qualified Conservator to join them on a full time permanent basis working 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

As Conservator, you will be responsible for managing photographic, books and paper-based material conservation projects to ensure high-quality practical treatment and project delivery across a wide range of sectors including museums, archives, libraries and historic houses. You will plan, manage and deliver projects, assessing risk, quality and decision making of required treatments, condition assessing, proposals and final reports. You will recommend preservation strategies, conduct conservation treatments and accurately document treatments in line with required standards. You will also manage the use of equipment, supplies and materials for each project and keep internal systems and databases updated.

To be considered for the role of Conservator you will have relevant post graduate conservation qualifications with a specialism in working photos / books and paper-based materials. You will have proven relevant conservation project experience, able to lead and deliver projects, take ownership for treatment selection, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and hold a full driving licence as you may be required to customer sites.

In return, our client is offering a starting salary of £32,000, pension, 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays, social events, employee assistance programme, and much more.
