Our superb client, based in Huntingdon, is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to join them on a full-time permanent basis working 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Leading and mentoring a procurement team, training, coaching and developing of your team, 121’s, appraisals, establishing KPI’s, etc.
- Overseeing the procurement of all services for the company.
- Building and maintaining relationships with service providers, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Leading the negotiations on SLA’s, supplier contracts, pricing, new suppliers.
- Managing and evaluating the delivery, performance and quality of suppliers.
- Ongoing review and streamlining of departmental processes.
- Building relationships with external stakeholders.
- Liaising with internal managers to ensure timely procurement and demand forecasting.
- Working to company and project budgets.
- Managing risk to ensure the business meets contractual obligations, cost fluctuations, etc.
- Identifying process improvement across procurement, cost reduction and efficiencies.
- Assisting with the development of cost forecasts and project budgets and preparing and providing management reports.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years’ experience within engineering or construction procurement with at least three years in a team management, leadership role.
- Proven experience of supplier negotiation and performance management.
- A strong understanding of subcontractor engagement and service-based procurement.
- Professional certifications (MRICS / MCIPS or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong procurement platform experience such as SAP, Oracle, IFS.
Compensation & Benefits
