Our superb client, based in Huntingdon, is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to join them on a full-time permanent basis working 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and mentoring a procurement team, training, coaching and developing of your team, 121’s, appraisals, establishing KPI’s, etc.
  • Overseeing the procurement of all services for the company.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with service providers, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Leading the negotiations on SLA’s, supplier contracts, pricing, new suppliers.
  • Managing and evaluating the delivery, performance and quality of suppliers.
  • Ongoing review and streamlining of departmental processes.
  • Building relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Liaising with internal managers to ensure timely procurement and demand forecasting.
  • Working to company and project budgets.
  • Managing risk to ensure the business meets contractual obligations, cost fluctuations, etc.
  • Identifying process improvement across procurement, cost reduction and efficiencies.
  • Assisting with the development of cost forecasts and project budgets and preparing and providing management reports.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years’ experience within engineering or construction procurement with at least three years in a team management, leadership role.
  • Proven experience of supplier negotiation and performance management.
  • A strong understanding of subcontractor engagement and service-based procurement.
  • Professional certifications (MRICS / MCIPS or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong procurement platform experience such as SAP, Oracle, IFS.

Compensation & Benefits

In return for the role of Head of Procurement, our client is offering a starting salary up to £80,000 depending on experience level, car allowance, 25 days annual leave plus statutory holidays, employee assistance program, healthcare scheme, life assurance, training and development, career progression, social events and much more.
