Who We Are Looking For
You need to be a trusted connector with a reputation for getting things done. The ideal candidate will have:
- Network & Sector Knowledge: An established, active, and verifiable senior network across UK SMBs in sectors such as energy, utilities, water, ports, telecoms, logistics, or manufacturing. Existing relationships with IT Directors, OT Managers, CISOs, COOs, or equivalent decision-makers in these sectors. A genuine understanding of the operational pressures, compliance obligations, and security challenges facing asset-intensive businesses.
- Track Record: Demonstrable history of creating new business from scratch — not just managing existing accounts. Experience generating qualified pipeline in cybersecurity, IT services, managed services, OT/ICS, or related technical sectors. Comfortable working independently as a contract hunter — motivated by results, not process.
- Style & Approach: A consultative, relationship-first approach — you open doors through trust, not cold tactics. Strong commercial instincts: you can qualify an opportunity quickly and know when to bring in our technical team. Entrepreneurial mindset — you thrive in a fast-moving startup environment where agility is an advantage.
Compensation
This is a high-reward contract designed to attract someone who is confident in their network and their ability to convert introductions into business. We are not looking for someone to do a lot of activity — we are looking for someone who can deliver results.
- Fixed Monthly Retainer: A modest but meaningful monthly retainer to secure your dedicated focus and commitment to our Client during the engagement period.
- Generous Success Fee: A clearly defined, generous commission structure tied directly to signed contracts and billable placements generated through your introductions. The more you deliver, the more you earn — with no ceiling.
Future Opportunity
For the right person, there is a clear pathway to a permanent Head of Business Development role as our Client scales. If you launch our market presence successfully, we want you to grow with us.
Why this role:
- Opportunity to work with a team of senior industry professionals who enjoy solving customer problems in the cyber resilience space.
- A technical delivery team with deep OT/IT cybersecurity expertise — you will have strong marketing and pre-sales support to take to market.
- A lean, agile business and your work has immediate, visible impact.
- Founders and leadership who are commercially minded and will support your efforts — not slow you down.
