Infinity Energy Services are a fast-growing renewable energy company specialising in the design and installation of commercial and residential solar PV systems. Our mission is to help businesses and homeowners transition to clean, sustainable energy solutions. We're looking for an experienced Solar PV Designer to join our growing renewable energy team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading technical design, and helping deliver high-quality solar installations for residential clients. You'll play a key role in designing efficient and compliant solar PV systems, preparing proposals and completing DNO applications.
- Design solar PV systems for residential and commercial projects
- Produce panel layouts, string designs, and system schematics
- Conduct shading analysis, energy yield calculations, and system sizing
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (MCS, G98/G99, DNO requirements)
- Work closely with sales, engineering, and installation teams
- Review site surveys and satellite imagery to optimise system design

Essential Skills:
- 1-2 year's experience designing solar PV systems (domestic or commercial)
- Proficiency with solar design software such as PVSol, OpenSolar (or similar)
- Good understanding of electrical principles and solar PV systems
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Experience with battery storage or hybrid systems (desirable)
- Knowledge of inverter systems (SolarEdge, Enphase etc.)
- Understanding of UK solar regulations and grid connection processes
