Overview Infinity Employment are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead and oversee operations in a dynamic and growing precision engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC and manual machining, with proven leadership capabilities and preferably experience within the automotive or motorsport sectors.This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a hands-on engineering background who is ready to step into a management role or continue to develop in a leadership position. You will play a key part in driving quality, efficiency, and innovation on the shop floor. You will lead a team of CNC and manual machinists in allocating workload and managing day to day operations.Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations of the machine shop, ensuring efficient workflow and production targets are met.Provide technical support to Machinists and with programmingLead and motivate a team of CNC and manual machinists, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.Liaise with software providers in relation to CAD CAM software issuesAssist with estimating project management materials purchasing and quality checksEnsure supplies are ordered for each job and liaise with the buyer regarding any issuesRegularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the general manager. Report on manpower overrun for short falls.Ensure correct job numbers are used and that time records are correctMake recommendations to improve efficiency and minimise downtimeOversee scheduling, job allocation, and ensure timely delivery of high-precision components.Ensure all health & safety and quality assurance standards are adhered to.Liaise with engineering, design, and production teams to resolve technical issues and support NPI projects.Manage machine maintenance and repair as requiredSupport hands-on when needed, particularly with CNC programming, setup, and manual machining.Maintain tooling, equipment, and machine maintenance schedules.Act as a technical advisor on key projects and other areas of the business as requestedWork with the operations manager to respond to clients\’ requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep communication channels open to ensure information is accurateReceive feedback from customers and follow-up to ensure customer satisfactionRequirements Proven experience in a machine shop leadership or supervisory role.Qualified CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator – HAASStrong background in CNC and manual machining, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming (Solidworks)Ideally from an automotive, motorsport, or precision engineering background.Excellent organisational and communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principlesUnderstands quality control skillsBenefits £55,000 Salary per year22 days plus Public HolidaysPrivate Medical InsurancePension SchemeRefreshmentsWorkwear provided.Supportive and professional team environment
